Internship Spotter Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-30
What the app does
Internship Spotter runs on your own computer. After you sign in with Google, it reads emails in your Gmail that look like internship applications (confirmations, interviews, offers, rejections) and lists them in a table so you can see where each application stands.
Data we access
The app asks for one permission only: read-only access to Gmail (gmail.readonly). It cannot send, delete, label or change any email. It searches for internship-related messages and reads each one to find the company, role, status and date.
What is stored
Only on your computer, in a local database: the company, role, status, date, email subject, sender and a link to the message in Gmail. Email bodies are not stored. Your Google sign-in token is also stored locally, readable only by you.
What is shared
Nothing. The developer does not receive your emails, your data or your token. There are no servers, analytics, advertising or third-party services involved, and no AI model reads your email: the app uses fixed rules on your own machine. The only network connections are from your computer to Google (to sign in and read your mail).
Google API Services User Data Policy
Internship Spotter's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your control
- Sign out of the app, or revoke access any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Delete the app's data folder to remove everything it stored (
%LOCALAPPDATA%\InternshipSpotterfor the Windows app).
